Redemption Process ♻️

What is Certificate Redemption?

Redeeming a certificate means officially using it to claim renewable energy consumption. Once redeemed, the certificate can no longer be sold and you get the right to say "I use renewable energy."

Key Concept

Redemption is the final step in the certificate lifecycle. It's when you "consume" the environmental attribute and can claim the renewable energy for compliance or communication purposes.

Three Types of Redemption

1️⃣ Direct Redemption (With Account)

For traders/consultants who want to redeem immediately

  • You pay redemption fees
  • Immediate redemption for specified beneficiary
  • Certificate generated instantly
  • Ideal for: Client services, internal redemptions

For traders/consultants who want clients to pay

  • Client pays the price you set
  • Pre-configured link with all redemption details
  • Automatic redemption when client completes payment
  • Ideal for: B2C sales, separately billed services

Step 1 Step 1: Select beneficiary (can be left empty for client to complete)

Step 2 Step 2: Select specific certificate from your portfolio

Step 3 Step 3: Configure details (purpose, period, language)

Step 4 Step 4: Set price to charge client

Step 5 Step 5: Get unique link to share

Once the link is created:

  • 🌐 Share the URL with your client
  • 💳 Client accesses and completes beneficiary data
  • Automatic payment and immediate redemption
  • 📊 You receive the agreed payment

3️⃣ Purchase and Redemption (No Account)

For companies needing certificates occasionally

End User Redemption - Step 1 Step 1: Select certificates from marketplace

End User Redemption - Step 2 Step 2: Configure beneficiary information

End User Redemption - Step 3 Step 3: Set purpose and reporting period

End User Redemption - Step 4 Step 4: Review details and pricing

End User Redemption - Step 5 Step 5: Select payment method

End User Redemption - Step 6 Step 6: Confirm redemption and complete process

When to use:

  • 🏢 Companies: Direct redemption for internal compliance
  • 📢 Organizations: For sustainability communication
  • 👤 Individual use: Personal renewable energy claims

Preview vs. Official Certificate

Benefits of Certificate Preview:

  • Prevents errors in final certificate information
  • Validates format and content before payment
  • Facilitates internal approvals in corporate environments
  • Allows adjustments before definitive redemption
  • Ensures accuracy for compliance documentation

This official document is what you'll receive upon successful redemption and can be used for:
